Objective

The objective of this alliance is to establish an industry-academia collaboration platform that enhances practical teaching and research outcomes in academic institutions. It aims to foster students’ creativity and applied technology research and development while facilitating collaboration between academia and industry. By fully utilizing academic resources, the alliance seeks to enhance research and development capabilities in relevant technologies, serving as a strong support for industrial R&D upgrades. It is committed to providing technical R&D support for industries and cultivating the necessary talent.

 

Purpose of Promotion

This alliance will integrate the research and service capabilities of the cross-institutional laboratory team from the “Heterogeneous Integration Silicon Photonics Research Center,” establishing itself as an industry-academia matching hub for advanced and innovative technologies. It will serve as an industrial service platform for technical consultation, research achievements promotion, and technology transfer while offering high-quality membership services. With the goal of fostering industry-academia collaboration and enhancing the technological standards of domestic industries, the alliance seeks to strengthen the connection between R&D and industry. Through various measures aimed at integrating and applying research outcomes to industrial needs, the establishment of the International Heterogeneous Integration Silicon Photonics Alliance is expected to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial applications.

 

Missions of the Alliance:

1.     Leverage academic and Ministry of Education resources to collaborate with members on experiments, testing, and R&D activities, ensuring the practical development and application of new technologies.

2.     Organize regular talent training programs to promote engagement between skilled professionals in electronic technology and the industry.

3.     Plan and host key domestic and international technology forums/seminars to facilitate academic exchanges.

4.     Provide professional technical consultation services to enhance members’ technological capabilities.

5.     Connect upstream, midstream, and downstream industry members to establish a technology chain within the alliance and expand cross-disciplinary cooperation.

6.   Extend the service capacity of the alliance, refining critical industrial technologies and enhancing application value.

Membership
Application

1. Purpose of the Alliance

The purpose of this alliance is to establish an industry-academia cooperation platform, promote member exchange and collaboration, provide professional talent training, and enhance the development of heterogeneous integrated silicon photonics technology. By leveraging the “Heterogeneously Integrated Silicon Photonics R&D Center,” the alliance integrates academic resources and facilitates industry collaboration. The goal is to maximize resource utilization, improve technological research and development capabilities,
and actively support industry R&D while cultivating necessary talents.

 

2.Membership Application Eligibility

(1)Membership Requirements

Applicants must voluntarily comply with the regulations of the alliance to apply for membership.

(2)Corporate Membership

Companies registered under the Company Act, non-research legal entities, and international enterprises may apply. Applicants must submit a membership application form, pass the secretariat’s review, and pay the membership fee to become corporate members. Corporate members may nominate two representatives. Institutional organizations must be government-registered entities and may also nominate two representatives with membership rights.

(3) Other Membership Categories

Domestic research legal entities, international alliances, and related organizations may apply. Applicants must submit a membership application form, pass the secretariat’s review, and pay the membership fee to become members, with two representatives. Companies or individuals who have made significant contributions to the alliance may be recommended by members or invited by the president, allowing the company to appoint two representatives with membership rights.

(4) Platinum and Diamond Membership

Companies with an annual contract value of NT$1 million or more with the “National Taiwan University of Science and Technology Heterogeneous Integrated Silicon Photonics R&D Center (HiSiPIC)” will be granted Platinum Membership for that  year. Platinum members may upgrade to Diamond Membership by making an additional sponsorship contribution.


3.Membership Application Process & Renewal

According to the alliance’s membership entry, exit, and fee payment regulations: Diamond & Platinum Members must complete the “Membership Application Form” 

Completed forms must be signed, stamped, scanned, and emailed to the secretariat.

(1) Membership Review

The submitted application will be reviewed by the alliance. Upon approval, the secretariat will notify the applicant via email regarding

successful membership and fee payment instructions. The membership fee is calculated based on the month of approval, and the membership start date is the date of notification.

(2) Membership Fee Payment

The membership fee must be paid within two weeks of the membership start date. Proof of payment must be emailed to the secretariat to confirm successful payment and complete the membership process. If payment is not completed within two weeks, the applicant will be considered unsuccessful, and membership will not be granted.

Platinum Membership: NT$50,000
